Gender & Transition in the Workplace with Dr. Ley David Elliette Cray

Ley David Elliette Cray, PhD, CSC, ABS (she/they) is an author, educator, and sexologist. She is the LGBTQIA+ Curriculum Coordinator for the Sexual Health Alliance, LGBTQIA+ Programming Consultant for Charlie Health, and the founder of Transentience Coaching. She is currently based in Las Cruces, NM, where she watches a lot of horror movies with her cats.

Process note: This session is part of a series of monthly meetups that Steyer hosts. Some of these meetups are limited to Steyer employees only; some are open to the public. The idea is simply to spend a bit of time together exchanging stories and ideas—to get to know one another better and to learn from one another.

In this discussion, we explore various aspects of gender diversity in the workplace. In particular, we take a look at common stressors and hurdles that trans and gender non-conforming persons face when not public about their identity, additional stressors and hurdles that manifest upon “coming up,” and how peers and supervisors can practice supportive and active allyship.
