Internal Meeting

March Town Hall

At Steyer, we strive to be a workplace where people are excited to spend their time each day. With a fully remote team, creating a community can be challenging. One of our principles is “we listen deeply” and part of putting that into practice is hosting a Town Hall. This internal meeting occurs twice a year and we hold space for current consultants to share feedback on anything they wish pertaining to their Steyer experience, and yes, we mean anything.

This year, our March Town Hall was hosted by Consultant and Client Services (CCS) Specialist Sarah Meier and Community Manager Samantha LaBat. The CCS portion included policy updates implemented in 2023 and resources for things to be aware of related to paychecks. The Community Engagement portion included a review of past & upcoming events and perks available to all Steyer consultants such as professional development mentoring and continuing education reimbursement. Samantha mentioned resources available through the end of the year to all consultants from our forgiven PPP loan: LinkedIn Learning and MasterClass. Sarah walked through Consultant Hub, our one-stop shop for information regarding payroll, benefits, tech support, events, and perks.

With the updates and reminders out of the way, we moved on to questions, and although the meeting has ended, we still want to hear from our consultants on an ongoing basis:

  • Is anything missing from Consultant Hub that you would expect or like to see there?
  • Are you connected to our Slack? Why or why not?
    • If you are connected to Slack, what do you like and dislike about it? Are there too many channels or not enough?
  • Have you attended our monthly events? Why or why not?
    • If you’ve attended events, which did you like? Which did you dislike? What events would you like to see?

We’re really listening. We provide lunch to all who attend the meeting as a thank-you for contributing to our community and helping us grow.

Suggestion Ox is always open – both to current consultants and friends of Steyer – for questions and feedback, with the added bonus of anonymity.

If you’re a friend of Steyer, we’d love to hear from you! Feel free to use SuggestionOx or contact us and let us know about your workplace – what you love, what you would change, and what keeps you there.

To any Steyer consultants who missed the Town Hall, check your inbox for the notes. You can submit feedback 24/7 – no need to wait for the next meeting.

Process note: This session is part of a series of monthly meetups that Steyer hosts. Some of these meetups are limited to Steyer employees only; some are open to the public. The idea is simply to spend a bit of time together exchanging stories and ideas—to get to know one another better and to learn from one another.
