One of our talented PMs, Matt Lutton, is an American photographer who splits his time between his hometown of Seattle, WA, and Belgrade, Serbia. He has photographed for a wide range of publications, including The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Vice Magazine, the Financial Times and 2012 Magazine. He joined Boreal Collective in 2013.

In this recorded meetup, you’ll hear Matt share his story and talk about pitching stories, freelancing, and the logistics of freelance journalism. He also digs into what the media industry/business is like and what freelancing looks like in that world. Bring your photography questions and curiosity!

Process note: This session is part of a series of monthly meetups that Steyer hosts. Some of these meetups are limited to Steyer employees only; some are open to the public. The idea is simply to spend a bit of time together exchanging stories and ideas—to get to know one another better and to learn from one another.
