Usability Researcher

We are looking for a usability researcher to join one of our large, Redmond-based tech client’s teams. In this role, you will collaborate with a high-performing UX Research team with expertise in all types of research including qualitative, survey, usability, metrics, plus partnering with big data experts for analyses of behavioral data. You have experience fostering relationships with PM and design teams, so you stay close to stakeholders and their challenges. You will conduct a mixture of qualitative and quantitative research activities to inform product design, including but not limited to ethnographic explorations, usability studies, heuristic evaluations, interviews, contextual inquiry, surveys, user journey maps, benchmarks or any method that answers the most important research questions.

If you are the right fit, you have 3+ years of experience conducting UX research in technical domains. You can quickly and effectively analyze research data and present rich findings simply and clearly to influence product design and direction. You have a passion for learning new technologies and understanding the needs of users across a wide range of technical abilities. You can meet customer and/or government security screening requirements that are required for this role.

This is a remote, full-time, 9-month contract with possibility of extension. We'll only be able to respond to applicants who meet the basic qualifications for this role.   • 2+ years experience usability testing
  • 2+ years experience user research interviewing and research process knowledge (create research questions, study design etc.)
  • 2+ years presenting experience
  • Proven storytelling and communication skills across leadership, engineering teams, designers, customers, and partners.

Pay rate range, depending on experience level: $48-54/hr. W2.
