Hello from Steyer,

Last week, Tony and I hosted one of our twice-annual in-person three-day gatherings for our deal, infrastructure, and content operations teams. On the first day, we had a pretty darn cathartic workshop in which we named, thanked, and ritually burned (with bright red-orange pom-poms!) the aspects of our company identity and model that are no longer part of our present-day reality.

Then we spent time together articulating the way things are today: our values, where we spend our time, what Steyer offers to clients and talent that speaks to their present needs. We had to take that time to acknowledge the no-more in order to make psychological space for the now-and-to-come.

Speaking of the now-and-to-come, I’m curious: where are you finding the most interesting sharing, these days, about the useful, cool stuff people are creating? Where are the builders and makers gathering to discuss? I’m on the hunt for LinkedIn groups, newsletters, subreddits, Discords, Slack workspaces, Bluesky lists, or any other hubs you’re finding compelling these days that are focused on innovation and experimentation.

I’m all ears, and you can always reach me at kreilly@steyer.net or on LinkedIn.

Thanks,
Katelyn
